BIOGRAPHY
Steve Hope Wynne is a British actor with over 20 years in film, commercials television and as a successful voice-over artist in commercials, animation and video-game features. Born to a musician and actor family he grew up in theatres to become a child actor and musician. He embarked on a brief music career then won a scholarship to study acting at London’s Academy of Live & Recorded Arts. ALRA.
Having begun his career in Vienna where his first movie role as the Times Reporter in Marvin Chomsky’s directed ‘Anastasia’ with Amy Irving, Omar Sharif, Rex Harrison and Christian Bale for NBC TV, he worked solidly in UK in independent and Studio films, television and commercials. Clocking up over 160 commercials worldwide in just 15 years for which he gets chosen particularly for his absurd comedy characters some with dark or tragic consequence.
Primarily reputed as a comedy actor Steve is described as an artist of gifted dramatic soul. He is also noted for his psychologically complex character performances that have connected him with trilogy author Andrew Wilkins, whose dark conceptual screenplays and other works are to be in development with Vertigo films UK.
Steve Hope Wynne builds relationships with new Writers and Directors, and having committed himself to long research phases for his roles, Steve has become a trained Soldier after researching the British Army and Royal Navy.
As an endurance rower he ‘secures’ time to support forces welfare charity for post-operational stress. Surprisingly, this does not influence Steve’s choice of roles or genre yet his ‘insight’ gives Writers and Directors a deep source of actor to draw from. He is in creative collaboration with a number of Writers, Authors, Directors and Comedy Series creators.
He is set to join the Terry Gilliam founded PANICO Film foundation in 2010.
Work ethic…“Provide a Character to sell the story. Be it funny, sad or mad; get the performance like a shot, in time under budget, marketed, awarded, revenue-streamed. Win the 3-picture and games deal. Above all aim to serve the emerging market audiences for relevance and longevity.”
